Should we require the Secretary of Energy to prioritize education and training for energy and manufacturing-related jobs?
Requires the Secretary of Energy to prioritize education and training for energy and manufacturing-related jobs in order to increase the number of skilled workers trained to work in the oil, gas, coal, nuclear, utility, pipeline, renewable, petrochemical, manufacturing, and electrical construction fields when considering awards for existing grant programs.
The Secretary shall prioritize the education and training of underrepresented groups in energy and manufacturing-related jobs.
Encourages collaboration, mentorships, and partnerships and establishes a clearinghouse to (1) maintain and update information and resources on training and workforce development programs and (2) provide technical assistance for those developing programs.
