Opponents say
• "To put the SAVE Act in there, it actually dilutes the power of what this socialism resolution is and should be attempting to do. So you know our amendment just simply attempts to expose this fraudulent, insincere attempt by Republicans and say, ‘Hey, if you guys really want to have a vote on socialism, let’s have it, right?’ And separate out these two issues. Proponents say
• "Socialism is fundamentally at odds with our values as Americans," said Rep. Crank. "American citizens being able to securely cast their votes at the ballot box is a right that the Democratic Socialists of America are actively working to undermine. I urge swift consideration of my resolution before the full U.S. House of Representatives, which will show the American people whether their elected officials stand for freedom or for socialism.
