The Government Shutdown Prevention Act prevents a government shutdown by providing temporary funding if Congress has not passed new appropriations before the start of a fiscal year. It funds government programs at 94% of the previous year’s level for the first 90 days, then decreases funding by 1% every 90 days until new appropriations are enacted. Sponsor: Sen.
